This Masters programme provides advanced theoretical and practical knowledge crucial for the development of robotics, as well as opportunities to work on innovative projects inspired by the latest developments in technology and society. You will develop skills in control systems design, artificial vision and perception systems for interfacing with the real world, human-robot communication, and computer-aided engineering, as well as programming for distributed and embedded systems. The course covers artificial life and adaptive behaviour, artificial intelligence, information visualisation, neural computation and dynamic systems, as well as remote access and monitoring systems. Graduates are able to pursue an exciting range of professional careers, such as in deep sea and space exploration, or home automation.

Robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems are used in most sectors important to modern economics, in aerospace, transport, health care, energy, and manufacturing as well as in hazardous environments. Robots are also increasingly used to educate and entertain or to assist people with limited mobility. This course is taught by world-leading experts, renowned for the award-winning Plymouth Humanoid robots, and you will have access to first class facilities.
